What we offer

Holistic guidance rather than à la carte medicine.

Building on our manifesto — health as a daily practice — we measure carefully, interpret honestly and accompany you over time, instead of isolated treatments without a thread. What we offer is evidence-informed: we say what is established and what is still being researched. We replace promises with reliability.

How our offering works

Six principles explain the mechanics from your point of view — not what we believe, but how guidance unfolds with us.

1

Understand first, then accompany

An honest assessment of where you stand as the beginning.

Before we recommend anything, we look closely — with established methods and an honest reading. A picture that fits you, not a template.

2

One person who knows you

Your Health Concierge knows your rhythm.

Instead of changing contacts, one trusted person accompanies you over time — coordinating in the background and translating findings into daily life.

3

In the rhythm of the year

Re-measurement and adjustment rather than a one-off cure.

Health is not a one-off. We re-measure through the year and adjust — quiet continuity rather than activism.

4

Focused paths when needed

Journeys: a prescribed result, not a single service.

When a theme calls for depth, time-bound journeys exist. Your doctor prescribes a result, not a list of treatments.

5

Everyday, not a stay

Reachable, not somewhere to travel to.

Water and recovery in the spa, movement, cuisine and community — on your doorstep, daily. This is what sets us apart from the retreat that fades after weeks.

6

Rooted at the lake

A place, not a programme.

Lake Zurich is part of the practice — from a morning swim to a shared boat outing. Rooted, local, following your rhythm.

Body

Where you stand — diagnostics & measurement

Every journey begins with an honest assessment of where you stand. We measure with established methods that allow robust statements — and interpret the results together, rather than leaving you alone with numbers.

Labs & physical baseline

Comprehensive blood/lab work and a basic internal-medicine assessment (heart, circulation, lungs); imaging such as ultrasound only where indicated, no whole-body imaging without cause.

For: early detection · monitoring over time · the basis of your path.

Body composition & bone density (DEXA)

The reference for bone density and muscle/fat distribution — a reliable basis for training, nutrition and prevention.

For: muscle/bone health · body composition · monitoring over time.

Metabolism & endurance (CGM + VO₂max)

How your metabolism responds to daily life, nutrition and movement, and cardiorespiratory fitness as a key marker of healthy years.

For: metabolism · endurance · training guidance · nutrition.

Load & recovery (HRV + sleep)

How well your nervous system shifts between effort and recovery.

For: stress/recovery · sleep · cardiovascular context.

Biological age (complementary)

Promising but not yet as reliable as established measurements (~2-year uncertainty); used with clear framing, never as a promise.

For: longitudinal view · motivation · context.

Movement & performance

Movement is the single most effective measure for a long, strong life. Instead of an anonymous big-box gym, guided practice in calm surroundings — on intelligent, software-guided strength equipment as well as with your own bodyweight, aligned with your assessment. One to one or in a small group; from strong training to mindful movement. Possible formats: personal guidance, small groups, strength & function on modern equipment, mobility & back, yoga & Pilates, breath & body awareness. Plus movement outdoors by Lake Zurich.

Our team of trainers is currently taking shape (founding partners) — we will introduce them here once it is in place.

AI-generated, illustrative — differs from the future location. Why?

This image is AI-generated and shows the intended atmosphere — it differs from the future location, which is not yet final. The actual property remains confidential until the negotiations are concluded; we share impressions first with Founding Fellows and investors (see «Investors»). This much we can say: the lake — and the good — are very close.

Nutrition & metabolism

Nutrition shapes how the metabolism works, how we sleep and how we age. We connect metabolic measurement with conscious, everyday nutrition — from gut health to stable blood sugar. No dogma, no lists of bans: numbers become habits that last.

For: metabolism · gut health · conscious nutrition · energy.

Regeneration & recovery

Recovery is part of performance, not a luxury. We rely on evidence-informed regeneration — not a cure. We openly state what is well established and what is still being researched.

Red light / photobiomodulation

Best studied; supports recovery and skin regeneration.

Intermittent hypoxia-hyperoxia (IHHT)

A stimulus for adaptability, offered with sober framing.

Cold (cryo)

Supports recovery and wellbeing.

Hyperbaric oxygen (HBOT)

Established for defined indications and part of the offering; any «rejuvenating» effect is early research and is not communicated as a promise.

Lake & outdoor

The lake is part of the practice. What a destination clinic cannot offer, we have on our doorstep: Lake Zurich and its shores. Morning swims, outdoor movement, walks along the western shore — and social boat outings as shared hours on the water. Movement and connection, in the rhythm of the seasons.

For: movement · recovery · community · connection to place.

Evening light over Lake Zurich — calm water, moored sailing boats at a small jetty, gentle hills on the far shore, overhanging branches.

Mind

Sleep & recovery

Good sleep is the most honest proof that measurement makes a difference. Sleep is the basis of all recovery — and one of the first areas where change becomes tangible. We measure sleep quality, interpret the results and translate them into a calm, everyday practice: handling light, load, rhythm and recovery. No gadget cult — just nights that hold.

For: falling and staying asleep · recovery · performance · stress.

Mental health

Support that stays — not only when things come to a head. Persistent stress throws the body off balance. We accompany mental health calmly and without pathologising — beyond measuring strain and recovery (HRV). What is missing in many places: psychological professionals and trusted companions who walk alongside you over time, rather than at single points. Here, that companionship is part of everyday life — preventive, continuous, grown in trust. Room for stillness and breath belongs to it too.

For: stress · resilience · inner calm · dependable support over time.

Soul

Cuisine & pleasure

Hands plating delicate, handcrafted morsels with tweezers on white plates — herbs and vegetables, soft light against a dark background.

What is on the plate is part of the guidance — and may be a pleasure. Our kitchen is neither an accessory nor a fasting regime, but pleasure with substance: rooted in the region and seasons of Lake Zurich, plant-forward and handmade, aligned with the medical team. Health should taste of place, season and care, not of restriction. Eating together is community in practice.

Water, warmth & spa

Quiet treatment room — manual therapy on a linen-dressed table, reclaimed wood and travertine in soft daylight (AI-generated, illustrative).

Calm as part of recovery. Warmth, water and stillness are not decoration but part of recovery. Sauna, water, baths, manual therapy and massage, and quiet rooms form the calm counterpoint to measurement and movement — a place where the nervous system settles.

Community & place

Health thrives in belonging. As a wellbeing & social club on the western shore of Lake Zurich, we combine guidance with genuine community — in small, reliable Fellowship Circles — and remain generous towards our place.

For: connection · belonging · local roots.

Meaning, Orientation & Inner Footing

What carries us is part of health. Alongside body and mind there is a third, often overlooked layer: whatever gives a person footing, meaning and orientation. What that is, you decide yourself — here, spirituality means no creed, but whatever you personally understand by it: inner calm, connectedness, values, a moment of wonder by the lake. We make room for it — in conversation, in stillness, in the passage between chapters of life — accompanying and on request, never preaching.

For: meaning · orientation · inner footing · navigating transitions.

Sanctuary Sessions

Knowledge that connects. Health grows through understanding and in company. In the Sanctuary Sessions, doctors, researchers and guests share what has substance — in talks, conversation circles and shared evenings, in the rhythm of the year. Some sessions are reserved for the fellowship, others open to the community — part of our connection to place.

For: knowledge · community · local connection.

How it fits together

How our path differs from retreat, members' club, clinic and apps is set out under «How we differ». How the offering becomes a path through the year is shown in the Journeys.

Frequently asked questions

Who is The Local Sanctuary for?

For people who understand health holistically and preventively, prefer space and calm to a crowded gym, and seek genuine community — connected by an attitude, not an account balance.

What do you mean by the inner or spiritual dimension?

Comprehensive health has always had more than a physical and a psychological side — what gives a person meaning and footing belongs to it too. Leading health research increasingly recognises this inner dimension as part of holistic care. We understand it functionally and person-centred: not a question of creed, but whatever you personally understand by it. It is an offer, not a programme — and always voluntary.

Is this a retreat or a clinic?

Neither. A wellbeing & social club as an anchor for daily life — reachable every day, part of life rather than a pause from it.

What does «evidence-informed» mean?

We say what is established and what is still being researched. We deliberately avoid IV infusions, whole-body imaging without cause and «detox» promises.

Can I use individual services on their own?

A curated core experience is naturally included; medical depth and individual programmes are added as needed and on medical indication. The framework is set out under «Membership».

When and where do you open?

Soft opening expected Q4 2027, very close to the western shore of Lake Zurich. We will share the exact location once legally cleared — with our Founding Fellows first.

The people behind the offering

We will introduce our medical, therapeutic and culinary team once the partners are confirmed and able to appear publicly. We name them once they are confirmed.
